Candidate introduced to DMK alliance workers
To stay in Chennai but work full-time for the constituency

VELLORE: Abdul Rahman of the Indian Union Muslim League, candidate of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led alliance for the Vellore Lok Sabha constituency, has said that he would work for the development of the constituency on the education, health and economic fronts, if elected as MP.
Mr. Rahman (49) told reporters at the party office on Saturday that if elected, he would stay in Chennai but work full-time for the development of the constituency.
Office, residence at Vellore
On whether people would have to go all the way to Chennai to meet him if he gets elected, Mr. Rahman said that he would have an office and residence in Vellore to help the public to meet him.
When asked about the allegation that the sitting MP, K.M. Khader Mohideen, had not done much for the constituency, Mr. Rahman said that Mr. Mohideen had done whatever he could as an MP.
Earlier, Mr. Rahman was introduced to workers of alliance parties at a meeting held at the DMK office under the presidentship of T.A. Mohammed Saqhy, Vellore district presidium chairman of the DMK. P. Karthikeyan, Mayor of Vellore, T.A. Mohammed Sadique, Deputy Mayor, and A.M. Ramalingam, secretary of the Vellore Corporation committee of the DMK, were present.
